In Indonesia, the price ranges from about 90,000 IDR (9 USD) / KG. while in other countries, prices hover around 40,000 IDR (4 USD). Therefore, many people in Indonesia asked that the government to deal with this.

Indonesia's national statistics agency issued the data that beef prices in the fourth week of January was 90,000 IDR (9 USD). The price has been around since December 2012. The World Bank also released data that says that the average price of beef in Indonesia in December 2012 is 9.76 USD, Malaysia 4.3 USD, Thailand 4.2 USD, Australia 4.2 USD, Japan 3.9 USD.
